Mum and Dad part 2

We also did a lot of sight seeing close by. Some of the highlights were:

Southbank, where we did lots of swimming, eating, and rode on the “Eye of Brisbane.” I thought the boys would be scared, but they loved it.

Bronco’s game. Unfortunately, they lost in the final minutes. But it was still fun.

Manly for a bbq and play.

Gold Coast. Beach and hiking. Mum really loved playing in the ocean. I loved watching her.

There was so much more, but I think this covers some of the highlights. What a fun time!

Mum and dad part 1

Back at the end of February, my parents came over to visit. They were here for about 4 1/2 weeks and we fit in quite a lot during that time. We spent a week in Caloundra at the beach, spent a lot of visiting the sites of Brisbane and surrounding areas, went on lots of day trips, and we moved. I don’t know how we would’ve gotten through the move without them, although it was probably not very fun for them! It’s too much for just one post, so Ill try to break it up.

Our first week was fabulous. We rented a place just near the beach in Caloundra. We spent a lot of our time either at the beach or in the swimming pool. It was beautiful! The boys have always liked the beach, but this was the first time they loved it. They loved being out in the waves. It was so fun to watch them.

On Saturday, we went to the  Eumundi Markets, then went and hiked in the rainforest. It was a really fun day. Jackson even braved the freezing water and went for a swim with Sam.

These were their soldier hats for a few days.  

One of Owen's new favorite things is holding grapes in his cheeks. It's funny every time. 

And of course Jackson has to get in on the action as well. 

Valentine's Day!

The boys helped to make some sugar cookies, one of their favorite treats. They did pretty well with the rolling and cutting. Jackson even did well with the icing. Owen used his whole bowl of icing on one cookie. He was pretty proud of himself. I kept asking him if he wanted to get another one, but he said no, he wasn't done yet.
