Make it stop!

It is now 9:49 pm. I put Jackson to bed late tonight, but it was close to 9 pm. And now, at 9:49 pm he is still crying, "Mommy...mommy....mommy", over and over again, with a cough and a sniffle mixed in every now and then. And a kick on the door every now and then. Ahhhhh! Sam is having a bit of a nap before he heads to work tonight and somehow the baby went to sleep as well. How do they do it? He really isn't a quiet kid. I went in to try and calm him down and he told me that he wanted to come in the kitchen. Nice try boy, just go to bed! There are a number of things that may be causing his non-sleeping. He has had a very runny nose and yucky cough for awhile now, maybe that's it? He has one more molar to come in, maybe that's it? He's started telling me there's a monster under his bed, maybe that's it? I really have no idea.

Just to remind myself, I'll tell you all some cute things he's been doing lately. Today I asked him to pick up his box of raisins that he dropped on the floor. He was standing by Sam, and so pulled on Sam's leg and said, "No, Daddy, you go get it." Another standard answer when I ask him to do something, "No mommy, you try." He's so little to be getting out of things.

One of my most favorite things he does right now is singing. He sings all the time. We were at Red Robin the other night, enjoying their $5 burger and Jackson was just standing up singing the ABC's most of the time we were there. So funny. Anyway, at home, he has found a microphone. It's the blue snot sucker that we have for the baby (I know this thing has a real name, I just don't remember what it is). He carries it around and sings into it, dancing all over the place. It's hilarious.

And now it is 10 pm, and the crying continues. Someone, please make it stop! But again, a reminder for us all (okay, for me), that he is cute: photos.

Happy Halloween

I thought I'd take advantage of both boys sleeping and update the blog. As I sat down at the computer, I hear Jackson singing. Fantastic. He's going to be one cranky bugger tonight. Oh well, at least he's not crying to come out.
And on to Halloween. We had a great day. I woke Jackson up early from his nap (I know, what was I thinking?) to get ready for our Ward dinner/trunk-or-treat. He was not happy. He wanted nothing to do with his costume and I almost gave up and just stayed home. I kept asking him if he wanted candy, and he kept telling me yes. So I told him he had to get in his costume if he wanted candy. Didn't work. Now he just wanted candy now. Why don't they get it? He was dressing up as an Indian, so we were going to mohawk his hair and that finally did the trick. He thought getting his hair done was pretty cool, so he calmed down and we eventually got him ready. He was also quite excitged about the face paint. Unfortunately, the mohawk didn't work, so we went with a ponytail instead. Lots of people in our ward thought he was a girl, even a couple who know us pretty well. His little nursery friend was pretty funny. Lexie looked at her mom like she was crazy when we she told her it was Jackson. We all had a good laugh at that.
We spent the evening at mom's house, eating delicious dinner-in-a-pumpkin and taking the kids around the neighborhood. Everyone had a great time and the kids were adorable!
