Painting

We’ve had quite a bit of rain lately. It makes for lots of indoor days, which can get pretty old. So the other day I got out some paint. We found some rocks outside to paint along with some empty toilet paper rolls and the boys went to work. It was messy, but kept them occupied for close to an hour. I was planning to put googly eyes on them or something, but we never made it that far. Oh well. It was fun.

And the aftermath. It was straight into the shower for these little painters. As you can see, Owen really got into the body painting. I don’t think he actually did any of it on purpose, which is pretty amazing.

Jackson is really proud of himself, since he’s the only person in our family that can do the monkey bars without help!

Day out

The boys and I didn’t do anything very exciting over school holidays, so I decided to take them for a day at Southbank. We walked around the river and spent our whole time there at the playgrounds. The boys had a great time. We also treated ourselves to some delicious ice cream and the boys got balloon swords. They didn’t last long, but they were fun while we had them. It was a good day spoiling my boys.

Dreamworld

A couple of weeks ago my friend, Jess, and I decided to take our boys to Dreamworld for a day before our passes ran out. I left Owen with his favorite aunty, and we set off. Jackson was strangely not excited to be there in the beginning, but eventually warmed up. He’s not one for going on the rides, but he sure loved watching Xander go on them. We had an awesome day! Thanks Jess, Xander and darling Aurelia!

Stupid teacups. I felt a bit ill after this. Those boys did a lot of spinning.

Haircut

Owen got a real haircut. Sam and I had been discussing cutting his hair, but I wasn’t really convinced. He needed a trim, but I wasn’t too excited about much more than that. But, I took Jackson to get his hair cut and just decided to do Owen’s as well. He was really good and just sat there. I couldn’t believe how different he looked and I was devastated. I regretted it instantly and shed a few tears throughout the day. I could hardly look at him without being angry with myself for doing it. It has slowly grown on me and I like it now, thankfully. I do miss his gorgeous curls, but he does look like a little boy finally. I think that’s why I was so sad, my baby was gone and there is this boy in his place. Lucky he’s still so darn cute.
