Recent photos

Here are some photos of the boys swimming. They love the slide.

One of their favorite games is to get out all the blankets and pillows and have pretend naps. If only it was real.

Owen has a sore bum, so he was having naked time when the rubbish truck came, and we couldn’t resist this photo. I love this little bum!

And Jackson loves taking photos. Here are a few things he found interesting enough to take photos of this morning.

72 days …

…Until we get on a plane and fly back to Utah! The tickets are booked and we are so excited! In about 10 weeks, on 8 June, we leave Australia and get to spend 7 weeks with our family and friends in the U. S. of A.

Here are some things we are looking forward to:

  • Leaving winter behind and enjoying another 2 months of sunshine and summer.
  • Family reunions! Can’t wait to see all our family!
  • Real milkshakes
  • Cheap shopping/eating out
  • Lots of cereal choices
  • Art City days!
  • Celebrating the 4 July in America! Yay for fireworks!
  • The boys playing with cousins
  • Did I mention it’ll be summer?
  • Going through all of our stuff so we can bring more back.

Ok, so I’m sure there are more. We think of different things all the time. We’re just so happy that we’re able to come. Jackson is really excited as well. The day we bought our tickets we told him we were going to Nana and Papa’s. He got really upset when we left the house later and we weren’t going to America. We are a little anxious about the plane ride with a 3 (nearly 4)year old and a 21 month old. Good thing they love movies.

Let the countdown begin…

Holiday!

Here are the (many) photos of our week away in Caloundra. What a great holiday!

The first few days were very windy. We did get out to the park and the rock pools, but not for very long.

We celebrated Charlotte’s birthday with a donut cake. Happy birthday to our favorite Aunty Charly!

We spent a lot of time at the beach. My boys were mostly interested in building sand castles, but did actually get in the water one of the days we were there.

Owen was very cute. He’d run out to the waters edge and then race the waves back in. He loved it.

We were also within walking distance of these cool water fountains, the rock pools, and this free outdoor pool.

And Owen loves watermelon.

On the way home, we stopped by the Glass House Mountains and did a quick walk and enjoyed the beautiful scenery before heading back home. What a great week!

5 years down

On 17 Feb, Sam and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. We enjoyed looking back and remembering all we’ve done in 5 short years. Sam put a lot of effort into planning the day. We almost got rained out, but in the end it was a beautiful day.

At the temple, where we started our date.

Enjoying the picnic Sam put together for us.

A must-have self portrait shot. Love you Sam!

What a helper

Jackson “helped” me make sugar cookies for Valentines Day. He was pretty happy to help with the icing. I think it was because he licked the knife between each dip. I was going to give the cookies to our neighbors, but decided  that it wasn’t sanitary…oh well, we enjoyed it! And Jackson was so proud of his work.
